Paper topic. Who are the Aunts and why do they get that position of power.

Book:
 the commander continuas to make Offred come to his office but he made her dress up in a short sparkaly dress and ware makeup. He took her to Jezzabels with is kinda like a speek easy of sorts. they women are there for men to look at and be with if they want the women can smoke and drink. she ends up have sex with the commander with out his wife there. Seriana Joy also sets up a garden Nick to get her preagnet. Offred and Nick start likeing eachother. Offred had to go to an exicution and ofglen tells offred that the man the women gets to kill is not really rapest but part of Mayday. they next day theres A new ofglen and she finds out that the old one killed herself when she saw the eyes were coming. when Offred got home the eyes were coming for her to nick told her to go with them. the boook ended with an convention were people analized this story that they found on taps of music. It seems like that era is over and women have rights again.

The Handmaid's Tale 151-195

So she starts hanging out with the commander more and he starts giving her magazens to read and look at. he also givs he rhand creem when she asks for it. she also asks about the saying she finds in her closet and he tells her its a joke that means (dont let the basters get you down) also she finds out that the other handmaid hung her self that is why she dosnt have a light in her celing. she talks about when she and Moria were friends right out of school and when she lost her job and was unable to buy things like cigs. she husband had to do all that for her. Then she talks about how her dauter had to get driven to school because tomeny kids go missing. She then talks about the night they tryied to leave and how her husben had to kill the cat. also he was still married when thay started seeing eachother.

The Handmaid's Tale 103-147

She goes back and forth between her time at the school, and her life at the commanders house. She trys to think about luke. She wonders if he is alive. She talks about Moira coming to the school. Thay talk when they can and Moira ends up escaping. Jainen Goes in to labor and the red bus comes around and picks up all the handmaids to help with the birth. she has a little girl.Offred Has to go to her commanders office. She gets to play Scrabble but then she has to kiss him good night

The Handmaid's Tale 49-99

A hole lot happend in this part of the book. she jumps between there remorys from the training school and what is going on for real. She rembers at the school her friend Moira coming and they have to sneek around to talk and find out info. She also has a doc. appointment were the doc. says he will get her pragnet if she would like. she tells him no its to risky and she also thinks about the home she was at before. Then the story gose to the night of the saramony. where they have to sit and get read to out of the bible and then she has to have sex with the comander fully clothes dress pulled up and the wife holding her arms. She then goes sneeking down the stairs runs in to Nick a garden, they make out she wants to have sex with him. they dont but he tells her the commander wants to see her in his office the next night.

the Handmaid's Tale 1-49

Well so far im a bit lost. this is what i have gotten thus far though. the world has changed alot. Women have very few rights and are given statuses. The handmaid's are able to have kids so they are brought to houses of important familys to have kids for them. There was war with alot of chemicals used and alot of people were sick. She dosnt like her life and remembers how things were before. she misses her husben and kid. the lady of the house dosnt like her. she has chores to do and dosnt like haveing to ware a red rode dress thing and hat. other places in the world are not as modist.
